MISSION STATEMENT

Welcome to the Rio Grande Valley Basketball Chapter --TASO. The Chapter is composed of a membership of up to 350 officials and is affiliated with the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO). The Chapter is dedicated to providing on and off-court trained, tested, TASO-certified basketball officials to the schools the chapter services from junior high school thru the varsity in the greater Rio Grande Valley area.

The Chapter services approximately 141 junior high and 105 high school campuses including the UIL, TAPPS, IDEA, Vanguard, and other private schools. The chapter's jurisdiction ranges a distance of 153 miles from Brownsville to Zapata.  The UIL designated midpoint of the chapter is 100 S. 10th Street, McAllen, Texas.

 

The Chapter complies with all TASO, UIL, and TAPPS policies and fee guidelines. The Arbiter software has been selected by the chapter to assign games and communicate with officials, coaches, and school administrators. ArbiterPay is used by many school districts for quick and direct electronic payment to sports officials.
